Devidas Dharmadhikari

Devidas Dharmadhikari, born in 1972 has been working as a freelancer in this field for the last 20 years. During this period, he has worked on many different subjects and techniques. He is working on the Horse series for the last seven years.
Everyone knows about power, beauty, strength, and many other aspects in it. There is no need to elaborate more about the subject “Horse”.
The subject itself is enthusiastic. Along with this, it is very challenging to portray it in paintings. He has tried to keep the realistic anatomy/proportion of horses without trying to stylize it. Sometimes he has simplified the form.  His paintings are trying to capture the movement of the horse through bold strokes and vibrant colours showing its strength, power, beauty, and force, the different semi-circles in the paintings unleash the power of horses to run towards the goal, says the artist.
He mainly uses acrylics but has used different mediums like oil, watercolours, pastels, and pencils. He likes working with acrylics because he thinks it suits his nature, as he likes to use bold strokes in his paintings and loves the textures through brush strokes. And the strokes together create depth in his paintings. He has done various solo shows in India and also group shows across the globe. Group show in London & Dubai remains the most famous shows out of all.
