Yuvraj Patil

Yuvraj Patil, born on 16th April 1980, is a young contemporary artist who excels in charcoal works. He has done his diploma in the foundation, diploma in art teacher, diploma in art education, and G.D. art diploma. His paintings reflect India and Indian culture. He is a very well-known charcoal artist who captures the splendidness of this world with the use of only 2 colours- black and white. These 2 shades are most important for intensity and clarity. It also creates a mood of playing shade and light. Yuvraj feels Greyscale paintings don’t possess the glamour or the razzmatazz of other colours but they can be eye-catching. The absence of colour creates depth in presence of shadows, giving the painting a sculpture-like look. In some parts of some paintings, colour is added intentionally, so it complements the black and white figure and at the same time moves the path of the eyes around the whole painting. His monochrome paintings bring in a dramatic commotion enlivening one’s senses and imagination.
