Chandra Morkonda

Chandra Morkonda is a contemporary artist from Andhra Pradesh, born in 1989 in the historic temple town of Srikalahasthi. He completed his MFA from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, and earned his BFA from JNTU, Hyderabad. He is a recipient of the prestigious State Award from PSTU, Hyderabad.

Chandra has participated in several group exhibitions across major Indian cities, including Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. He has also presented solo exhibitions at Forum Art Gallery, Chennai.

His artistic style draws deep inspiration from traditional folk and tribal art practices, especially those preserved by local craftsmen and artisans in and around Santiniketan.

Over the years, his artworks have been showcased at various art camps, national exhibitions, and international shows, earning him recognition both in India and abroad.
