Paramesh Paul
Born in 1970, Paramesh Paul is a self-taught artist. He was born in a traditional potter family in a rural environment in the state of West Bengal. The artist is greatly in love with towns like Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and other religious places that often appear in his artworks. The main element in his paintings is water; especially River Ganges is a frequent element in his artworks. This particular river has a religious and spiritual element associated with the people of India. Amongst all, Paramesh Paul has enormously accentuated on his ‘the most’ acclaimed series, i.e. Benaras. He has mysteriously encapsulated the mysticism and spirituality that is offered by this city.
